Christmas collection

28 Dec

So, as Christmas has finally arrived and gone, at last I can publish some photos of my “Christmas Collection”…. the bracelets are made of golden wire, pale pink and black half crystals and various stones… as my skills improve I think I’ll be opting for golden plated wire since this simple golden coloured wire, I’m afraid, tends to oxidise….

Tree decorations

17 Dec

Last Christmas (I gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away….)… no, it’s not the famous Wham! song…. is that, last Christmas I launched the ritual to make decorations for my tree (see here).

So, this year (to save me from tears, I’ll give it to someone special...) – sorry again for this Wham interference – I had to  keep up with this newly established tradition.

That’s why last Friday, as I was stuck at home because of a little snowfall, I took the sewing machine and made these decorations… I made few of them. The white one was the prototype, but since it came out sufficiently decent I decided to hang it too.  🙂  I made six decorations with the Scottish fabric, three with silver thread and three with white thread.

The most difficult part for me was to sew in circle… that was an “experience”, but I think I’ve found out the trick. 😀

Santa’s Little Helper

6 Dec
Me, the Elf

Me, the Elf

I’ve been working a lot lately making gifts for friends and family for Christmas. But since I don’t want to spoil the surprise I can’t really upload all my handiworks – except for the two in my previous posts – until after those gifts have been safely delivered and happily unwrapped by the recipients on Christmas day!

A bit frustrating for your Santa’s Little Helper but it is worth waiting! 🙂

Another Christmas gift

5 Dec

Here is another of my “spending review” Christmas gifts… a Chan Luu bracelet for my brother’s girlfriend. I used some rawhide string and half-crystal beads in various shades of red. I also used a red wooden one-hole button to finish it.

I must say that I really like this bracelet and I find terribly difficult to separate from it. I actually still find it difficult to separate from any of my handiworks… When I’ll be easier to part and when my technique will be good enough, only then I’ll be able to start a commerce! 🙂

Again, I’m posting it just because I’m 100% sure she’ll never visit my blog. 😉

Spending review Xmas gifts

As Christmas is approaching, in these hard times of economic crisis, you have to find alternative gifts. So here is my “spending review” first gift: a crocheted scarf for my daddy (who’s not going to see this blog ever so I can publish it light-heartedly!) Not too bad for a first serious attempt with the crochet, but I can certainly improve! 🙂
