I had this pair of brown trousers which have been left unused in the closet for a zillion years because…. well, basically because they didn’t fit me anymore! Sigh… 😦
So I decided to try an experiment: cut them at the knee and with the remnant enlarge both sides. I was inspired by an old pair of jeans that I bought almost 20 years ago in Carnaby Street, London, during a study-holiday. Well, in that case the inserts were made of cotton printed with “Stars and Stripes”… 😐
It took me quite a while to complete the task because first I had to do a lot of unstitching. Then I pinned the sides and adjusted them to fit me, and, at last I sew the whole.
It was my first time trying something so “complicated” but I think it didn’t come out too bad, after all. Anyway, I added a belt to conceal the little imperfections… and here are my brand new re-styled trousers-turned-bermuda! And they also fit pretty well now. 😀
