Women in Australia

31 Jan

One week has passed since the 2014 Australian Open Finals and I’ve found the time only now to say how much I enjoyed the Women’s final. It has been a match between two unusual opponents but it has been a nice game to watch. I had the chance to know better two very interesting players and they both really inspired me and my tennis:

Crystal choker

22 Jan

This is a choker I’ve been thinking about for quite a long time…. it is made with white crystals, cultured pearls and amethyst beads, and it is finished with a golden chain.

Big Ginki

21 Jan

Last summer I bought some Japanese Chirimen Kimono cord at StinkyDogBeads on Etsy, and I made a copy of a Ginki bracelet. But that wasn’t the only piece of Chirimen Kimono cord I bought. I actually bought a bigger one and I’ve been struggling ever since to find a proper cone, big enough, to finish it. In the end I succeeded in finding something suitable and here is the final result….I also added a little silver bell.

Snake scarf

14 Jan

Here is a scarf I made for Paola as Christmas gift. I used the same wool as the one for her daughter Marta’s, so to have a mother-daughter matching scarves. 🙂 Because of all its spirals it reminds me of a snake! It took me quite a while to crochet and the result is a bit funny.

Little monsters

13 Jan

Here are some Xmas gifts I made for  my friends’ children…. I got the tutorial for these little “monsters” from the brilliant REVOLUZZZA blog here, and, with some minor changes I made three of them…. my old sewing machine has some problems with narrow zigzag stitches, so I avoided the mouth, but the result is quite nice anyway. Or at least I’ve been told so….

Neckwarmer

10 Jan

This neck-warmer has been made for my friend’s husband, Vincenzo. Since he’s already wearing it, I guess this is another success for me! Thumbs up!

I made this amethyst and pearl necklace for a friend as Christmas gift too. Unlike my previous ones this is a choker.

Infinity scarf

8 Jan

This infinity scarf is still from my Xmas Gifts Series…. I crocheted this for my friend Paola’s daughter, Marta. I hope the blend of purple, fuchsia, ecc… is fashionable enough for her!

Voucher Holder

7 Jan

As Christmas is over, I finally can upload some of the gifts I made for friends and family.

Here is the meal voucher holder I made for a colleague and friend. As she’s a cat-lover I added a little cat button as an extra! BTW, she apparently liked it, since she’s already using it….
