Go green

12 May

Last Friday, at my local market, I’ve bought these lovely green tinted agathe beads. I really liked their colour and their “natural” look and I wanted to make something that would show these features.

So I made this three strings bracelet. It was a first time for me to use this technique, and I think it came out pretty well. I’ve also been very lucky to find a charming silver toned toggle clasp which also matches beautifully with the decorated cones.

Last Friday I bought a bouquet to brighten up my home and bring some Spring colours in. This bouquet is composed of a couple of fuchsia roses, a fuchsia gerbera daisy, a bunch of small white chrysanthemums, a lot of ferns and other green “stuff” among which there were these green odd-shaped things that I really hadn’t the idea of what they were… until yesterday….. when I got home from work I found this lovely surprise….

This little “adventure” made me realise how ignorant I am about flowers….

I made this bracelet using the same material that I used for this other bracelet here…. basically the leather is waste matter to which I added two terminals – fixed with a bit of glue – on both sides. Then on one side I added a lobster claw clasp, and on the other a little chain with a small heart shaped charm.

Since it can be worn both sides it is a reversible bracelet, but I particularly like the saffron-yellow side because I’ve just bought a new pair of shoes of the same colour and I wanted an accessory to go with it….

I’m looking forward to wearing both shoes and bracelet! 😀
