A first time

28 Feb

This is my very first crocheted sweater ever. Last Autumn I bought this lovely wool at my local market and I wanted to make something with it rather than the usual scarf. So I searched the web and I found an easy pattern on Pinterest and started from there.

The beginning was a bit rough as I didn’t have a clear idea of the measures. Then I didn’t consider it should be fitting a woman bust…. so I have undone it a couple of time before finding the right way.

It’s not perfect but I made it myself, and I like it!

Cute little flowers

16 Feb

I made these cute little crochet flower brooches as a gift for some friends in Fuerteventura, where I went for a week holiday last September. I enjoyed making them: a little present for special people.

Crochet market bag

19 Jul

Crochet market bags have become quite popular recently due to the growing environmental awareness and I have been thinking for a long time to make one myself. I’ve been looking for tutorials and patterns on the web but in the end I decided to go with the flow and let my creativity free. 😀

The result is this red white and blue market bag that my roommate Nemo decided to test straight away. I used scraps of cotton threads so it’s a win-win situation.

Nemo says, recycle. Upcycle. Be kind to the world and stop using plastic bags!

Just my imagination

10 Apr

My mother taught me how to crochet when I was about 6 years old. At that time I used to make very loooong chains with scrap threads and nothing more than that. It was fun, but my childhood curiosity didn’t take me too much further: I made little things here and there throughout the years but it was only few years ago that I rediscovered my crochet. Unluckily my mum is no longer around to teach me all the tricks so I have to rely only on my limited knowledge and the web.

All this preamble to say that I made my first crocheted crossbody purse a couple of weeks ago. No template or tutorial here. It just came straight out of my imagination.

I think mum would be proud but she would hint all the – many – mistakes too. 🙂 ❤

Christmas gift part 2

29 Dec

After my first “Christmas gifts post” here is my second creation which is of a different kind: a crocheted infinity scarf…

Two spins is the ideal….

2 rounds

… also one spin is acceptable.

No rounds

But I wouldn’t reccomend “no spins” at all….

Fingermade

14 Oct

Yes, that’s correct. This kitty’s bed is literally fingermade, as I have used my very own fingers instead of a traditional crochet to make it.
Nemo seems to appreciate it…

Doily fever

13 Aug

I’ve been definitely mesmerized by Zooty Owl’s doily patterns: they are lovely and easy, and the tutorials couldn’t be clearer. So, here is another doily I finished crocheting yesterday…..

Lovely doily

11 Apr

Here is a lovely doily I made recently. Actually I begun crocheting it few months ago, but then I came to a halt because I had a bit of a problem at deciphering the instructions…. after a while, with a clearer mind, I finally understood the enigma and here is the result….

BTW, thanks to Janette from The Green Dragonfly blog, for the tutorial that can be found here…. it was only due to my dumbness that it wasn’t completed earlier… 🙂

Spring doily

Last but not least

5 Feb

…. I was almost going to forget to post this Xmas gift I made for my brother’s girlfriend. It’s an infinity scarf/neck warmer that can also be used as a hood. I’m not sure whether she appreciated it or not, but trust me when I tell you that it is *far* better than what I got from her….
