Washi tape magic – again

4 Apr

Being a bit bored with the usual gift wrapping I explored the use of washi tape to decorate and personalize a plain white – and inexpensive – paper bag. It is very simple yet cute.

To close the bag I made two matching holes on the front and back sheets and passed a pink ribbon through, and simply tied it in the front. I also drew some candles on the top of the “washi cake” and wrote “Buon Compleanno”, which is the Italian for “Happy Birthday” . 🙂

First craft of 2016

5 Jan

I begun the 2016 with a simple craft: two “Totoro” corks….

They are quite simple do do: I just printed some Totoro’s pictures and cut them out in the shape of a glass bead (of those used as decorations for vases). Then I glued the pictures to the bottom of the beads. I waited for the glue to dry and then  I glued the top of the cork to the bottom of the bead.

Et voilà… two Totoro spare-corks. 🙂

Merry Christmas

23 Dec

Every year I make a decoration for my Christmas tree. This year, since I hadn’t much time left due to my Little Santa Helper‘s job I decided to make this cute little crocheted star.

So, here are my best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone out there….

Tree decorations

17 Dec

Last Christmas (I gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away….)… no, it’s not the famous Wham! song…. is that, last Christmas I launched the ritual to make decorations for my tree (see here).

So, this year (to save me from tears, I’ll give it to someone special...) – sorry again for this Wham interference – I had to  keep up with this newly established tradition.

That’s why last Friday, as I was stuck at home because of a little snowfall, I took the sewing machine and made these decorations… I made few of them. The white one was the prototype, but since it came out sufficiently decent I decided to hang it too.  🙂  I made six decorations with the Scottish fabric, three with silver thread and three with white thread.

The most difficult part for me was to sew in circle… that was an “experience”, but I think I’ve found out the trick. 😀

Christmas efforts #2

8 Dec

It took me 1 hour and half this morning to decorate my Christmas tree but in the end I was quite satisfied with the result and also for this heart shaped decoration that I made myself.

I definitely have to improve with round sewing with the sewing machine but all in all it didn’t come out too bad!
