A farewell gift

22 Mar

My post today is about a little gift I made for a friend who is leaving for a while.

My friend and Taiko teacher Tomoko is going back to Japan for 1 year, so I wanted to thank her for her kindness, patience and for all the time that she spent on teaching me.

I also selfishly made this so that when she looks at it she might remind of me too, and, by the way, little pouches are always useful! 😀

Thank you for all the happy hours Tomoko-sensei. Come back soon!

Bestseller

24 Jun

Here is my one, and so far only, bestseller: the meal voucher holder!

A colleague asked me to make one for herself and accordingly to her personality and preferences, I came up with this… (I know, I should have ironed it before taking the photos…!)

Anyway, she said she might order other voucher-holders for Christmas as present for her colleagues…. we’ll see! 🙂

Christmas gift #1

29 Dec

I haven’t updated this blog recently because I’ve been busy with Christmas gifts and I couldn’t upload their photos *before* the very day, but now that all the presents are in the hands of their recipients I can finally do so.

Here is the first one I made: an earrings organizer for my friend Paola. I painted a picture frame and added some lace strings and a little ribbon rosebud on top. I also added some nylon fish wire at the top of the laces for extra support.

I really like how it came out, and I hope she likes it too. 🙂

Easter earings for Marta

28 Mar

Once Marta – Paola‘s daughter – pointed out that she likes lace earings, so I thought it could be nice to make her something special to wear for Easter holidays.

Here is the result. The lace is not handmade of course, but I added some purple beads to make them a bit different. I hope she’ll enjoy the result too.
